Hey there, fellow space adventurers! Welcome back to “The Canadian Expanse Explained: Map Building Part 2.” Last time, I embarked on mapping out a starry Canadian future, and today, let’s dive deeper into how I’m bringing this cosmic Canada to life, all from my computer.
Keeping things chill and a bit familiar, I’ve named the star systems after Canadian places we know and love, with a few twists to spice things up for our space saga. It’s all about making this universe relatable but also fresh and intriguing.
Speaking of fresh, ever heard of Celestia? It’s this nifty free astronomy app that’s become my sidekick in this galactic endeavor. With a bit of tweaking, I can whip up stars, planets, and even zoom around in spacecraft. It’s like having my own spaceship, minus the zero-gravity mess. Getting up close with these digital worlds is super inspiring and really fuels my creativity.
Now, about those planets. In my Canadian cosmos, the habitable ones are compact—think bustling “City” planets. This means we’re skipping the whole continental warfare drama to keep things simple and focused on urban life in the stars. Imagine hopping from one city planet to another without ever having to deal with an ocean or mountain in your way. Pretty neat, right?
This project is a marathon, not a sprint. I’m documenting all these fantastic locations as I go, building out a universe you’ll be able to explore from your phone or computer. That’s right, Celestia works on mobile too, and you’ll even be able to load up my custom mods to tour the Canadian Expanse yourself.
Stay tuned for more updates, because there’s plenty more celestial crafting to come. Thanks for joining me on this interstellar journey! Who knew mapping the final frontier could feel so much like home?
