The Mandoleer's Folly Series, Stories

After surviving their ordeal on the habitable moon and losing the Mandoleer’s Folly, the crew heads to the heavily fortified RCSC starbase in the Fort Nelson System to receive their next orders.

The RCSC Archer emerged from the Fold into the Fort Nelson System, navigating its way towards the heavily fortified starbase. The crew of the Mandoleer’s Folly, now passengers aboard the Archer, felt a mix of relief and sorrow.

“Approaching Fort Nelson Starbase,” announced the pilot of the Archer, guiding the ship smoothly into the docking bay.

The starbase’s Commandant, a stern yet welcoming figure, greeted them. “Captain Spacedawg, welcome to Fort Nelson.”

Spacedawg nodded, his heart heavy with the memories of their fallen comrades. “Thank you, Commandant.”

As the crew disembarked, Spacedawg was called to the Commandant’s office.

“Captain, I have news that might lift your spirits,” the Commandant said, his eyes twinkling. “You’re being assigned a new ship. Come, I’ll show you.”

Spacedawg followed the Commandant through the starbase, stopping at a large docking bay. There, gleaming under the lights, was the Mandoleer’s Folly Mark 2.

Spacedawg’s jaw dropped. “The Mandoleer’s Folly Mark 2… It’s magnificent.”

The Commandant smiled. “It’s larger and equipped with the latest technology. Your crew deserves the best.”

Engineers from the starbase began evaluating the crew’s surviving equipment and fighters. The advanced facilities of the starbase were put to immediate use, repairing and upgrading where needed.

In the briefing room, Spacedawg met with Captain Knudsen and other RCSC officials.

“We need to discuss the recent attack and the loss of your ship,” Knudsen began. “What can you tell us about DeSnaijlerBorn: March 9, 1903Birthplace: Rotterdam, NetherlandsOccupation: Physician/Geneticist Early Life and Education Joost DeSnaijler was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands. “We need a solid plan,” Knudsen agreed. “Let’s strategize.”

With repairs underway and strategic plans forming, the crew took some much-needed downtime.

Elliott, the cat, explored the starbase, charming the staff and discovering new hiding spots, bringing a bit of light-heartedness to the crew’s somber mood.

The crew gathered as the Commandant handed out new orders. “Your new ship is ready. You’ll be taking the Mandoleer’s Folly Mark 2.”

The starbase’s engineers outfitted the new ship with next-generation weaponry and technology. Training sessions were conducted to ensure the crew could effectively use their upgraded equipment.

As final repairs were made, the crew prepared to depart. They expressed their gratitude to the starbase staff, who had become friends and allies.

“Thank you for everything,” Spacedawg said, shaking the Commandant’s hand. “We won’t let you down.”

With the Mandoleer’s Folly Mark 2 ready and the crew rejuvenated, they set course for their next destination.

“Let’s bring them to justice,” Spacedawg declared, determination in his voice.

The crew, united and equipped with advanced technology, embarked on their new mission with renewed resolve, ready to face the challenges ahead.
