Efforts to retrieve the remains of the dead were a priority. Body bags filled any open space in the cargo bays, and discussions began on how to properly bury the deceased. It was customary for RCSC officers operating on stations to “bury at sea.” In this case, the sea was space.

After much deliberation, it was decided to release the bodies into the Fold, which held spiritual significance for many. The belief was that if one’s body hit a timespace storm, they would live again in a new world or universe.

A somber gathering formed as the nearly 150,000 coffins were sent into the abyss of the Fold. Celine gave the eulogy, her voice carrying the weight of the immense loss they all felt. After the ceremony, each ship held a reception to commemorate the dead.

After a few days of mourning, it was time to investigate. Celine appointed J.J. He has become a pivotal figure in handling temporal disturbances, working undercover as Agent 93 for a secretive organization tasked with protecting the temporal integrity of his environment. More to oversee the investigation and coordinate with the constabulary crews aboard the other ships and those that had arrived with her. Spacedawg was appointed fleet commander and tasked with coordinating fleet management.

Teams were sent down to the surface of the barren planet to document and collect evidence. A special temporary station was assembled from pre-assembled parts, providing enough space to analyze any collected evidence. Retrieval drones were dispatched into the debris field to scan for clues and remove dangerous debris, in case a new base was built to replace the old one.

For days, the teams worked tirelessly, turning up little until…

The investigation had reached a standstill, with no substantial evidence uncovered. Spacedawg, feeling the weight of responsibility, joined MaelstromMaelstromOrigin and Early Life Maelstrom, a Gichi-manidoo from the Rogue Moon of Giizis Babaa-ayaa in the Ontario Sector, is distinguished by her blue-furred, wild cat-like features. “Anything?” Spacedawg asked, his tone edged with frustration.

Maelstrom’s life took a significant turn when she relocated to the bustling... More shook her head. “Not yet, Captain. The drones are still combing through the debris, but it’s slow going.”

Just then, a console beeped. Ed leaned over to check the readout. “Captain, we’ve got something. A signal… it’s faint but definitely there.”

Spacedawg’s eyes narrowed. “Where’s it coming from?”

“It’s hard to pinpoint, but it seems to be originating from deeper within the debris field,” Ed replied, his fingers flying over the controls.

Spacedawg nodded. “Send a team to investigate. This could be the break we need.”

As the team geared up to follow the signal, the sense of anticipation and urgency grew. They had a lead, and it might just unravel the mystery behind the catastrophic implosion.

The investigation team navigated the dense field of debris, their scanners locked onto the faint signal. Every piece of wreckage held potential clues, but this signal felt different—more intentional.

“Careful, everyone,” J.J. SmithJohn Jacob Smith is a seasoned police officer from Georgetown, known for his bravery and unique involvement in managing time anomalies. Early Career and Experiences John Jacob Smith has been a fixture... More warned, his voice steady. “We don’t know what we’re walking into.”

The signal grew stronger as they approached a large, twisted piece of the former starbase. Maelstrom’s scanner beeped insistently.

“Here,” she said, pointing to a section of the debris. “It’s coming from inside.”

The team carefully removed the wreckage, revealing a hidden compartment. Inside, they found a small, heavily damaged device still emitting the signal.

“This is it,” MaelstromMaelstromOrigin and Early Life Maelstrom, a Gichi-manidoo from the Rogue Moon of Giizis Babaa-ayaa in the Ontario Sector, is distinguished by her blue-furred, wild cat-like features. Maelstrom’s life took a significant turn when she relocated to the bustling... More said, her eyes wide. “This could tell us what happened.”

As they secured the device and prepared to return to the temporary station, a sense of hope began to replace their earlier despair. They had finally found a clue that might lead them to the truth.
