Spacedawg smiled, leaning against the railing. “Well, that’s a bit of a story. It all started back in my academy days. I wasn’t exactly the most disciplined student, but I had a knack for strategy and a stubborn streak a mile wide. My nickname came about during a training exercise where I managed to outmaneuver the entire fleet’s top students with nothing but an old cargo ship and a lot of improvisation.”
Emilie laughed. “That sounds like quite the tale. And your Danish?”
Spacedawg shook his head, smiling. “I can barely speak it, to be honest. I spent some time in Denmark during my training, but the language never really stuck. I get by with a few phrases and a lot of hand gestures.”
Emilie found this amusing. “Well, you’re doing just fine. It’s not every day one gets to meet a hero of the Canadian Expanse.”
Spacedawg waved off the compliment. “Just doing my part. Speaking of which, I should get back to my crew. Enjoy the rest of the evening, Emilie.”
