The team formulated their strategy. Disguised and armed with Maelstrom’s enhanced sensors, they infiltrated the event. The gala was a glittering affair, but tension crackled in the air.
Dagbjort pointed subtly. “There, near the stage.”
They uncovered hidden explosives and disarmed them just in time. The mastermind, however, slipped through their grasp, leaving behind a taunting message.
Back on the Mandoleer’s Folly, the crew read the message aloud. “You may have stopped us this time, but we’re always one step ahead.”
Spacedawg’s jaw tightened. “We’re not done yet. We’ll keep chasing them until the threat is gone.”
