Spacedawg insisted on joining the away team for the mission on Sussex Prime, but Njord wouldn’t let him go without proper protection.

Spacedawg marveled at the armor and weaponry, then grabbed his trusty battle axe, Fyrs-Ond. Joined by a few squads of Canis, Spacedawg met J.J. They boarded several shuttles and headed down to Sussex Prime.
On the surface, the town had a small, unwelcoming feel. Despite polite inquiries, the locals either ignored them or glared. Even the Constabulary was uncooperative. Spacedawg had an uneasy feeling about the situation, which was confirmed when someone hurled improvised incendiary devices at them.
The Imperial Guard jumped into action, swiftly surrounding the attackers. Renée took charge, arresting the assailants and warning them, “You’re lucky you weren’t ripped to pieces. We’re here to save innocent children.”
Njord suggested using a Canis device to scan the prisoners’ brains. He grinned menacingly and warned them, “In rare cases, excessive lying can cause the brain to explode. I’ve been itching to try it on a human.”
Renée initially dismissed the idea, but Njord whispered that the real side effects were minor. She reconsidered and asked, “Can it actually compel them to talk?”
Njord nodded. The prisoners, terrified, quickly volunteered information. They revealed that Pete Humphrey was hiding and planning to take down the gang with covert implants capable of injecting a small explosive below the palate. Renée was stunned, realizing this method was similar to earlier witness assassinations.
Spacedawg and Njord led a team to the bunker where Humphrey was supposedly hiding. They carefully disarmed booby traps and neutralized the guards with non-lethal rounds, clearing the bunker room by room. They rendezvoused with the other squads, and Renée began interrogating the leader of the bunker guards.
The leader was resistant, but Njord activated a lie detector on his tablet, warning the leader he would receive a shock for every lie. After the first shock, the leader revealed they had missed Humphrey by a few hours. He was meeting the gang to rescue his family and had a special surprise for the gang members, set for that afternoon.
