Spacedawg looked at Aikin with a mix of pity and resolve. “You should consider yourself lucky. You’re getting a chance to understand the pain you’ve caused,” he said.

Aikin, trembling, asked, “What’s going to happen to me?”

Spacedawg explained, “You’ll be put into a cryogenic pod. You’ll experience your crimes from your victims’ perspectives. Then, you’ll undergo therapy to remove your violent tendencies and inability to get angry or commit crimes. With your offenses, you won’t be eligible for parole for at least a hundred years.”

Aikin’s face went pale. “I don’t want to experience that. Please, just kill me.”

Spacedawg shook his head. “You need to understand the consequences of your actions. This is the best way.”

Aikin was led to a room with several cryogenic pods. Scientists prepared the equipment, explaining the process. Aikin was placed into one of the pods, his protests fading as the lid closed over him.

“This new type of prison will ensure he understands the weight of his actions,” said one of the scientists. “He’ll experience the pain of his victims and hopefully emerge rehabilitated.”

Spacedawg watched as the pod activated, a sense of justice being served filling the room.

With Aikin securely in the cryogenic pod, Spacedawg and his crew returned to the Mandoleer’s Folly Mark IIClass: Angry GooseType: Capital ShipOperator: Order 93Crew Capacity: 1,200 (plus 20 guest quarters)Decks: 20 Overview The Mandoleer's Folly Mark II is an experimental next-generation Angry Goose class capital starship, designed by Abraham Corcoran, Maelstrom, and Dr. Cornelius. The ship prepared to depart, setting a course for the McBride System.

“Good work, everyone,” Spacedawg said to his crew. “We’ve delivered justice and now we move on to our next mission.”

As the ship left the starbase, the crew reflected on their recent victory and the challenges ahead.
