The security ships did not budge. Spacedawg’s face hardened. “Launch the fighters. Fire a warning shot.”
The fighters flanked the security ships, but still, they didn’t move. “One last warning,” Spacedawg said. “Stand down or face the consequences.”
Sensors indicated the security ships were powering up their weapons. “Boarding parties, prepare to outflank the enemy and head straight for the base. Expect enemy fire,” Spacedawg commanded.
The Mandoleer’s Folly launched its boarding parties, engaging the security forces in a fierce shootout. The defenders were relentless, but they were no match for the RCSC’s well-trained troops. The battle was intense, with casualties on both sides, but ultimately, the security forces were overwhelmed.
A fighter disabled a luxury space yacht trying to escape. One of the boarding parties secured the yacht, finding evidence of human trafficking and smuggling. Inside the base, they discovered the horrific truth: over 100 women and about 60 children, aged 3 to 17, held captive.
Renée led the rescue operation, her team working tirelessly to free the captives and provide medical aid. “We’ve got them, Spacedawg. They’re safe now,” she reported, relief evident in her voice.
